description

Info

The Bulgarian SLR-106fr is an U.S. imported carbine length semi-automatic rifle based on the Kalashnikov series of AKM rifles, chambered in 5.56x45mm. It is a side-folding stock variant of the AKM and has most of the same features, but has many updates of the later AK-74 and AK-100 series of rifles. It stated being imported in the 2000’s and is a modernized version of the AKM with a stamped sheet metal receiver and design improvements to make it lighter and easier to produce. The SLR-106fr has a 415mm barrel and a side folding polymer stock. The Bulgarian SLR-106fr has many of the same features as the Russian produced AK-100 series of firearms, such as a side-folding stock, 90 degree gas block, AK-74 style front sight block with 24mm brake, and AK-100 style furniture.

The Bulgarian SLR-106fr can be identified by markings on the left side of the rifle's front barrel trunnion, and on the left side of the sheet metal receiver. It has a distinct circle "10" marking on the side of the trunnion, indicating it as a Bulgarian Circle 10 built firearm. It also has unique serial number, which can be found on various parts of the rifle. SLR-106fr rifles have a black paint finish. The rear sight leaf will feature a "D" marking indicating "battle zero."

The Bulgarian SLR-106fr has some unique design features, such as a polymer AK-100 style folding stock in line with the rest of the rifle, a ribbed sheet metal dust cover, and black or plum colored AK-74 style furniture.

The Bulgarian SLR-106fr operates with a manual of arms comparable to a standard Kalashnikov assault rifle.
